Clonakilty AFC has never been bigger.

Founded in 1965, the club has seen highs and lows over its 61 year history, but at no point over the decades has the club had so many players, teams and coaches.

Today there are over 600 boys and girls registered with the club ranging in age from six all the way up to 18. There are 50 volunteers who coach those kids every single week of the year.

This year, Clonakilty AFC has submitted over 20 teams to the West Cork Schoolboys and Schoolgirls League.

The club’s ethos is not solely about winning trophies (though we do that too). Instead, we aim to develop players, to maximize their potential, and allow as many boys and girls of all ages and skill levels to play soccer for as long as possible.

That is why the club launched its girls soccer program just a few years ago, and it has already been a huge success.

This has all been achieved without a permanent home. Since its founding, Clonakilty AFC has played on pitches all over the town, from the Showgrounds to Inchydoney to its current rented home in Ballyvackey.

We simply do not have enough space to facilitate the training and games for all of the children who want to play.

So now we are launching a campaign to find a permanent home for Clon AFC.
